ww: Veterans Day

I wish I was better at incorporating holidays into our school days. It seems with the workload I already want to accomplish that adding "extra" fun stuff is LOW on the priorty list.... but I am convinced that some holidays must be spoken of, taught and remembered.

And one of those is Veterans Day!!! As the granddaughter, niece and sister of brave men who have loyally served our country. I am honored and very appreciative of their sacrifices! And mourn those eho have recently lost loved ones in the current war(s).

I was inspired to hunt for Veterans Day materials after attending a Reanactment with weekend. The men carrying the battered flag across the battlefield is a reminder of the pride and thankfulness we have for our country.

And the bugle playing "Taps" over the field, reminded me of the many, many who have lost their lives in service to our country from all generations! So powerful!

THANK YOU to all the Veterans,
spouses and families
who are supporting and praying for their heros to come home soon!

Here some of the resources we are using!
*Collection of poems

*Reading page about Veterans Day with review questions (we'll read aloud and talk about the questions since the kids are young)
*Some coloring Pages

*Library books :)

I love how you like to incorporate holidays into your lessons! That always made the holiday more meaningful knowing the meaning and history of it when my mom did that with our lessons. Thanks for posting your resources!
