I'd love anymore input!! If you are a home owner, what is one thing you wished you would have done differently in your house choice? Or what did you do right??

I wish we had looked beyond "good enough", and planned on a home to live in forever. We bought a house that needed complete updating. As in all paint, flooring, kitchen, bathroom, windows and doors, with an unfinished basement. It's been sooo much work! And it was at the very top of our price range when we bought it, so we have had to do things slowly. We're still far from finished.
My husband bought our home when we were still dating and 11 years later, here we are. Neither of us thought we'd be here this long, but with the economy so bad and the real estate market such a mess, we're not going anywhere anytime soon.
So I'd say pick something that you can imagine staying in a long time, even if that's not the plan. You never know what will happen.
