On Wednesday, we dropped the books for the day and headed to the property ALL day:)
It was an exciting day as we watched a crew of men and machines put together the house that had been scattered about the property last week.
There is just something exciting and scary about seeing part of your house dangling in the air!
Our house was put together with 5 sections. We were able to watch 4 of the 5 sections being moved placed onto the house. We also saw the raising of the roof :)
It was just amazing to see it all come together and begin to resemble the house we picked out months ago.
And I thought I'd do a back view, too! Although this corner will be changing in the next few months. The larger window in the bottom right will be replaced with a sliding glass door. And then a carport will be built with access to the little door on the far right.

And as much as I was disappointed last week when the "putting together" was delayed, it was perfectly timed this week so we could enjoy the break and just hang out at the lot without any deadlines or work calling us to head home early. Yes, even Brian was able to take the day off and spend it with us... just watching!

There is still plenty that needs to be done before we can move in! They are estimating about 2 to 4 months before we will be official residents.
Until then we'll rejoice in the small (and big) events, try to get some pre-packing done (like cleaning out, organizing, deep cleaning stuff, etc) and attempt to complete our school year before the real packing begins!!
Can I say again how surreal this all feels....
I look at the pictures of the house assembled and think "is this really going to be our house?" And it's humbling and exciting... all mixed together.
We have MUCH to be thankful for!

who that looks huge!
God's timing is perfect. It looks wonderful and soo cool how all the sections fit together. Yeah....you are right, it is hard to believe that it is your HOUSE. May God continue to bless you as you prepare to move in. Love you all and thanks for the pictures. We weren't there physically, but we were there in spirit.
That is so awesome! I have never seen a house be put together in sections, they don't do that around here. Probably because we have basements?
That is so cool that you could see your house go up like that.
My tip for packing...put everything you need for vacation in your suitcases and stay in a hotel, then go pack EVERYTHING that is left. Once EVERYTHING is packed you can camp in your house until moving day.
(You can leave the beds up.)
I know this sounds strange, but it would help alleviate the headache of "but I might need this" and then not being able to get out of your house when you need to be out because you haven't finished packing.
