Little Mommas

Chris was the MOST excited when we found out that we were expecting a "brother"!! He wasn't going to be as outnumbered!! LOL!!

But my daughters have transformed into Nate's "little mommas". He makes a noise and they are right there mothering him or coming to find me to ask if they can hold him.

Now that Nate has more head control, Anna has been allowed to hold Nate while standing with our permission. I love this pic of Nate and Anna looking at each other;)

Lydia is right there with Anna on getting "holding time". Nate looks soo BIG in her lap!!


I"m sure there is coming a time when Nate won't want to be snuggled by his sisters. But for now, he loves it;) And them! It delights this Big Momma's heart to see Nate's face light up when his sisters and brother comes to talk to him.

Cousin Time

This weekend we spent time with Hannah Grace...

it's amazing it's been a year and that she has already celebrated her 1st Birthday!!

And now she is walking while holding someone's hand;)

Unfortunately we're not around her more often, she does seem though to be a happy little girl:)

My girls doted on her the whole time!! They watched her every move and tried to help whenever possible!

Girls Go Together :)

We've all been made fun of by the opposite sex... They always joke us, ladies, about going to the restroom together!

How early does it start???


Well I'm now thinking that "bathroom" social breaks start before we girls are 2 years old!!! LOL

Anna jumped up from the table at lunch yesterday to use the potty. As she was running to the potty we hear and see Lydia jump out of her seat saying,"Mee tooo, I need to go potty!"

Immediately then I hear Daddy groan saying,"Is it starting already?" LOL

Little girls:) How sweet to see them bonding. Seeing them wanting to help each other and spend time together... even while it's washing their hands:)

Ladies, why do we do that??? What's with the "social bathroom trips"??

Hand-Me-Down Comparisions :)

One fun thing with have two little girls at two different ages is comparing the hand-me-downs on the girls:) Here is a cute little outfit Grammie brought back from her world travels.... I've really been wanting Lydia to wear it before she outgrew it..... ahh, it's still a little big, so I have plenty of time for her to wear it some more :)

Ok, the picture of Lydia was taken tonight at 18+ months and the picture of Anna was taken in Sept 2006; she was 27+ months:) Maybe Lydia will be a little bigger than Anna...

Always "Up To" Something New

Here is my 18-month old .....going on teenager!!! Honestly, I have had soo much fussing from her the last few weeks every time I pick up the phone, the camera or my keys because she wants them. She's even started to say "key" and "hone" (AKA phone). Our kitchen phone has broken so we've been letting her play with it... a "real" phone...and she has only put it down to eat and swim in the baby pool:)

She's also getting to be pretty experienced with putting her own shoes on...she even gets them on the correct feet sometimes:) And she'll say "shoos". I remember this stage with Anna and it's cute. Although I know I'm going to have start being more firm with the fussing:(



And this is what happens when your a little boy is stuck between two very girlie sisters. Christopher has been told that he can't paint his nails and it's sad that he can't join in the "fun". So I got him some clear polish and did his toenails as the girls and I were painting ours PINK.

And what does my 150% boy do when I finished his toenails, he snatched up the bottle and started painting his fingernails:) He is going to be a very good husband......just think when his wife is huge with pregnancy, he'll gladly paint her toenails for her!!!!


And now to my oldest.... she has been wanting to wear Pull-Ups to bed, so we decided that if she woke up dry we'd get her some. Well she's been waking up dry in diapers for days now to get Pull-ups. Then I got to thinking why in the world would I get Pull-ups so she can pee-pee in them at night.

SO last night we came up with a different plan.... 5 Days of wearing big girl pants through the night and she could get a "prize" at the store! And we'd let her pick out the prize... seriously, one pack of Pull-ups is $15 (and that price might be the Walmart brand), I think Anna could get a nice "prize" for at least $15. Right now she's wishing for Princess PJs or a new Little Einstein DVD.....motivation:)

Here she is trying on a hat from Grammie's collection at VBS last week:) My mom would let the preschoolers wear hats during the missions video...and don't you know the kids couldn't wait to get into Missions to wear their hat and watch the video everyday!Too funny and cute!!!

Painted Toes

Since Anna was a little tyke we've tried to paint her toes. I remember her being in a highchair at my parent's house during her first summer. We thought she's be distracted by eating and so my mom and I tried to paint her toes....she pitched a fit.

Everytime she's seen me painting my own I've asked her if she wanted me to paint hers. "Nope." It's not her personality to try something completely new until she's comfortable with it.

Well in the last month she has seen two of her friends (both older by at least 9 months) with their fingernails and toenails painted. Today she made the connection at lunch. "Did you know that Rachel and Katie both had their fingernails painted?" Of course it hadn't crossed my mind that the girls even had their nails painted.

Well she just snuck out of bed and fed me the line, "I need to make a stinky. Will you stay in here with me?" She's had a tough night, so I easily gave in. She then quickly asked if I could "paint her toenails." H ahahahaa.....I told her as long as she tried to make the stinky I would paint her nails. As they were drying she said, "We need to go see Daddy. He will be so impressed." Impressed.....where did she learn that word?

Anyway, Daddy is tickled pink that she is such a cute little girlie girl!!

Can she really be influenced by friends at this young of age? Granted it's just painted toes....something we've been talking to her about and wanting her to try. But for her opinion to change over it just because of her friends......it just seems to young. Of course, she does wait for Christopher to try the new indoor playground before she'll venture up.......
