The rules were posted...

But what happened to the playground???
The kids didn't seem to notice...
as they entertained themselves with jumping, chasing
and collecting some rocks out of a hole.

Did you SEE the SNOW???

Ok, I LOVE snow.... hmm, the white fluffy kind that is fun to play in and not too messy ... ah ahaa.... I'm just like a kid. And I've been really wanting snow because the last time we had fun, play snow I had just delivered a baby and wasn't able to get out into in:)

Today the TV weatherman said that there were flurries in the atmosphere, but that it probably wasn't cold enough for us to see any flurries..... for once I'm glad he was WRONG!!

We were in the parking lot when we started to see the SNOW... hmmmm, ok.. the very light flurries. But the kids were still excited to try to catch them:)

Then we went inside and had lunch together:) It would have been better had we found some friends to eat with:) Last week and this week I have taken the kids out by myself while in the midst of errands and I've been soo impressed with how well they have done... they've obeyed, they've eaten their lunches and we've had the best time:)

Today I had the camera with me.... and captured one of these Magical lunches:)

Lydia actually ate her hamburger WHOLE... instead of just eating the bread or just eating the meat... maybe because it was a late lunch:)

Gotta love Christopher with that signature ketchup on the face look:)

PWs & PKs taking over TOWN

Hahahaa...

This morning Andrea and I took the kiddies to the local library for toddler reading time. I always expect more moms (and grandmoms) to take advantage of this awesome resource!! The children's specialist librarian Heather is just great with the kids and I'm always amazed at her knowledge of children's books. I can ask her about a certain topic and she'll run around and start pulling other books that go along with the topic of interest. And she talks to my children using their names!!

In fact, my little Anna that would cry when I mentioned "library reading time" was excited last night when I told her we were planning to go again:) She said to me, "I can't wait to see Miss Heather again and listen to her read."

Today was a little different because we met in the actual library and not in the side room (which has very few distractions)!! But it was good because about halfway through our time together another mom can in and her family joined us.

During the craft time the Moms chatted as we "helped" the kids with glue, scissors and glitter!! And imagine this...... this other mom is another young pastor wife mom that has recently moved into our area!!! What fun!!!

So we invited our new friends to an exciting lunch at Wendy's (we desperately would LOVE an indoor playground!!!). And I'll just have to add this to my list of blessings. This family has a little boy and two little girls!! Finally a little girl friend for Anna!!! And some more MOmma, PW fellowship!!

YEAH!!

Another One Bites the Dust

With food allergies we are always a little on guard when we eat out. This weekend was tough.... at both the rehearsal dinner and reception we brought or bought food to take with us for the kids! It seems like our allergens are EVERYWHERE... (Can anyone make a chicken nugget without eggs and milk)???

Our last meal with Grandma and Grandaddy we visited Chick-Fil-A.... the kids love this restaurant b/c of the playground and the Waffle Fries. We are very cautious though because all of their breaded items are dipped in a "milk wash" before they are breaded... so that leaves us witht he Chargrilled Sandwich.... which in the past the kids have been fine with...

But now with Christopher's new problem foods it looks like the Chargrilled (and Chick-Fil-a) is a problem, too!! Being a former Chick-Fil-A employee I remember the Chargrills being soaked in a marinade that included pickle juice!!! Yep, those cucumbers are popping up everywhere!! Some of Christopher's first bites of the sandwich did have a pickle so maybe that contact started the reaction... but the whole piece of chicken has pickle juice soaked through it!!!

One good thing about the kids' different allergies is that if one breaks out and not the others, it's easier to pin point the problem food...... like this time. All three were eating the same sandwich!! But Christopher was the only one to break out.... so it couldn't have been a milk reaction or else all three would have broken out. And it couldn't have been an egg reaction because Lydia didn't break out!!

So it looks like we'll be avoiding Chick-Fil-A for the time being and find a new playground or pack Chris food (which definetely takes the convience out of fast food AKA quick unplanned meal)!!!
