Only Grandparents...

Happy Grandparents Day!!!!!

I grew up knowing I had grandparents who enjoyed visiting us, and occassionally we would visit them or go on family trips with them. But I never remember calling my grandparents to chat until late high school and college. My parents kept me in touch with them and their activities, but we weren't very close.....

not so with my kids and their grandparents!!

They love to call Grandma & Granddaddy or great-Grandma. They eagerly wait for the 4th Tuesday when Grammie & Pey drive by and stop to play for a couple of hours!! They LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to visit their grandparents' houses and have a stash of toys at each!!

My kids are soo blessed to know their grandparents (and Great-Grandma) soo well! And totally DON'T get away with anything while grandparents are around....

(like playing in his cake before anyone else got a piece...)

Oh, I have SOOOO Many!!! But I'll refrain:)

And just share how thankful all of us are for our grandparents!! And how blessed my kiddies (and Brian and I) are to have our parents who make super grandparents:)

And here were a couple of cute and funny Grandparent Quotes!!

Rudolph Giuliani - "What children need most are the essentials that grandparents provide in abundance. They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humor, comfort, lessons in life. And, most importantly, cookies."

Gene Perret - "I always give my grandkids a couple of quarters when they go home. It's a bargain."

-"Grandchildren don't stay young forever, which is good because Pop-pops have only so many horsey rides in them."

-"An hour with your grandchildren can make you feel young again. Anything longer than that, and you start to age quickly."

-"On the seventh day God rested. His grandchildren must have been out of town."

-"Two things I dislike about my granddaughter — when she won't take her afternoon nap, and when she won't let me take mine."

We love celebrating Grandparent's Day, too. How blessed you are to have grandparents close by! It's wonderful to read of how intentional you are in encouraging such special and priceless bonds between generations.

Your blog is very lovely!

Funny quotes! I know my kids love grandparents. They call my mom "mamoo". So funny. :)
