Actually, the winner was me:) I was able to get in a few more minutes of "night before school" preparation before the babe's "final" feeding;)

Beginning to Look Like Christmas

We are finally getting up some of our Christmas decorations! And as we've spent time together, I've tried to remember some of the sweet and cute things the kids have said...

After noticing that the Christmas tree had lights, Christopher (5 yrs) said, "hey, look at those 'little fire guys'!!"

As Christmas approaches I begin to tuck little gifts into the kids' stockings. The kids just noticed the first gift in the stocking.

I knew they knew when Lydia (3 yrs) approached me and asked,"Can we open our socks?"

Everyone helped decorate.... if only for a few minutes or to share some drool:)

Chris' comment was funny though. I showed them that we could see Lydia. And Chris explained it to Anna saying," We could see her afflection."

And Little Lydia DID try to help Daddy hang our first "outside" lights:) We usually don't get to decorate too much outside:) So we are excited to have a couple of lights outside and hope to add a little more next year:)



She was out there for just minutes and she came back in saying," I need to come inside, my fingers not go."

LOL!! I guess her little fingers were too cold to move;) An explanation of the hat and mittens while decorating the tree inside;)

1st Fishing Trip

I have many memories of fishing (and crabbing) with my family as a kid. And if memories weren't enough, there are plenty of old pictures to prove I DID fish:) Although I remember being kind of bored... LOL!!

Brian and I really haven't gotten into fishing since being married. Surprising because we are in a community that encourage all sorts of outside activties. We have plenty of friends/neighbors that hunt and fish all the time, just dependent on the season:)

My parents, though, still love fishing. And they have regretted not taking the grandkids out yet!! Especially now since they've been working at a boy's home and take those guys out whenever there is "free time"!

SO.... I really wasn't surprised when they gave Chris a fishing rod for his birthday and offered to take him out soon after;) We made it a family trip and have some fun pictures to remember...

And just so Grammie and Pey know, the girls are asking for their own fishing poles for Christmas:)

7 Months

The Stats:

• Height - still 27.5 inches (at home)
  
• Weight - 18 lbs (at home)
• Size 3 diapers
• Usually 12 month clothing (some 18 month)
• 2 longer naps; sometimes an early evening catnap
  

Favorite foods:

• Avocado
• Banana chunks
• Oatmeal w/cinnamon
• Chicken:)

"New" Tricks:

• More Babbling
• Putting Cheerios in his own mouth
  
• Pulled himself to standing (ahhh!!!)
• Looking for us when we disappear from sight
• On hands and knees- ready to go, just hasn't figured it out yet!
  

Favorite things to do:

• Nap in the Beco
• Play in the bathtub (alone or with siblings)


• Stand on his back feet and try to crawl (more trying to crawl with Owen HERE)
  
• Peek-a-boo
  
• Get attention from his siblings;)


• Play in his food - practice makes perfect and a mess;)
• Snuggle with Mom and Dad at night
  

Things we're watching:

• His finger nails get soo long so fast and are painful
• Still thinking he is sensitive to "soy", maybe????? so Nate and Momma are avoiding it
• Drool, but NO teeth... probably in the next 2-3 months;)
  
• His little cheeks get soo irritated sometimes :(
• His digestive system is in transition during the transition to solids... there is no telling what his next diaper will look like
• What he puts in his mouth

Momma's Thoughts:

Time is going tooo quickly!! I get soo excited to Nate to do a new task, but then my heart breaks over how quickly he is growing up. I have been sooo thankful for the pictures over the months that let me remember the little baby I had in my arms just months ago! And that let me enjoy these sweet days and attempt to capture the little moments that are fleeting!!

And these days are soo much fun as his little personality begins to shine through. I love how inquisitive he is ... he's always trying to get into something, or touch something or watch:)


And his interactions with the older kids... LOL!!! He's starting to giggle when they do... so funny! But he lets us all know when they have crossed the line... he'll cry out LOUD when they are being too rough with him, or he doesn't want to be held. And Nate is LOVING the independence of movement... he's always wanting to be on the floor to practice his new moves;)

WW: Our Disney Pics... finally:)

We had a great time at Disney World with the family the week before Thanksgiving. And let me tell you it's the PERFECT time to go... no/short lines, great weather, fireworks at night (Epcot) and Disney World decorated for Christmas;)

We THANK Grandma and Grandaddy for taking all of us!!! We had a great time and it's soo sweet to hear the kids talk about all the fun they had and things they saw and did:)
