Nate Saying Lydia

It's soo cute to hear the younger kids as they begin to say their siblings' names.

We all laugh when we remember Anna (18+ months) calling Christopher "Dee":) Nate also has a funny name for Chris, he calls him "Tiss". It's funny because it's very hard to decipher whether Nate is saying Chris or kiss:)

But he just started to say another sibling. And I think it's the hardest of all the names:) But he says it;)

Link up what your kids are saying!! Record and remember these sweet memories;)

Wing High & Voting

Our little Nate has been going through a word explosion.... it's nice! I was a little worried he's a very vocal little guy (just ask about him at the local Walmart... LOL!!), but didn't really try to use words to communicate... he just grunted, yelled or pulled us to what he needed.

IMG_9639It seems like for the last 4 weeks he's been attempting new words each day... usually two or three. They are still very "baby"... but it's a start:) And I'm loving the "word(s) of the day".

Yesterday it was "mil" for milk and "bla" for black:)

And if you ask him how old he is, he'll definitely enthusiastically tell you "TWO!!".. unless he's being bashful:)

Of course he'll also tell you that Mom, Dad, Anna, Chris, Lydia, Gran-Grandma, Grandma, Grandaddy and Collar are all "TWO!!" too:)

Last week he started saying "wing high".... the kid who was scared of swings now loves it;)And wants to go high;)

BTW... we were at a beautiful location, but you would never realize it from the picture... funny how that works sometimes. Here is another shot with the background showing!

The kids heard a news report about the upcoming election. And so they asked,"Mommy who are you voting for?"

Of course I wanted to see how they would answer the question:)

Chris: "I'm voting for Newt Gingrich, no I mean Barack Obama, no I mean Mitt Romney.

Anna: "Well I wanted to vote for Rick Santorium." (remember she also wants him to be the new pastor of our church... LOL!!)

Lydia: "Well, I want to vote for George Washington!"

Looks like even this group is still undecided... good thing we still have until November before the voting happens.

Now it's your turn!! Link up those fun and interesting conversations with you little ones;)

Squatty Potty

Lydia has been potty training herself again.... how does she do it?? She constantly removes her diaper and all of her clothing. Then CLIMBS on TOP of the potty!!! It's pretty funny to watch:) And she is sooo PRoud of herself!!!

This afternoon she climbed on top of the potty (with Brian and I watching from a distance). But this time the pee-pee didn't wait for her to sit.... ah ahaaa ha She reminded me of a squatty potty (here's a random post about squatty potties).

The funniest thing was that she was a little surprised and she just grinned:) Then she saw us looking at her and she said,"I did it!"

haha haha haa...

Can I change the subject just a bit??? I have LOVED hearing each of my kids "learn" to talk!!! Since when the older two were at this stage I had little babies to tend or maybe it's just TIME passing, I just don't remember them talking as much as Lydia is:)

One of my favorite phrases of hers goes like this:

Lydia (spots money on the counter): Money.

Mommy: "Yep, that's money."

Lydia : "I-tant-touch-it" or "I-tant-have-it"..... ohhh, it just melts my heart and lets me know she is understanding our rules;)

Again?

Brian and Lydia were playing this evening. Anyway, we thought we could hear her say "again" to tell him to throw her back in the air!

Please excuse the ragga-muffin attire and hair of my sweet and beautiful child....we were having an inside day and I just stuck clothes on her each time she drooled through her shirts....teething, still?

Saying His Name

What were we thinking???? Naming our sweet boy "Christopher". He'll finally be able to write his name in 5th grade :) And I've been trying to coax him into saying his name. The conversation usually goes like this:

Kelly:"Christopher, what is your name?"
Christopher: "Anna."

K: "No, your name isn't Anna. Anna is right there (pointing to Anna). What is your name?"
C: "Lydia."

K: "No, your name isn't Lydia. Lydia is right there (pointing to Lydia). What is your name?"
C: "Daddy."

K: "No, your name isn't Daddy. He's in the office. What is your (pointing to his chest) name?"
C: He points to his chest and says confidently, "Me!"

So today I pulled out the last trick.....gummy worms:) His aunt trained him to say "Aunt Jac" when he was 14 months or so...so I figured I'd give it a try....here it is......

Ohhhh.... and speaking of my kids talking Lydia has started to say another word. Her first two are "uh-oh" and "Daddy". Her newest is "bad"!! Yes and she swats her hand like she is trying to hit........hmmmmm, I wonder where she picked that up. Maybe her sweet and innocent BIG brother!!!
