Tiny Talk Tuesday - Summer Songs Edition

So have there been any songs that are "stuck" at your house this summer?? LOL!!

My crew has had two that have lingered in our home;)

The first was a song (and movement) to Agency D3 VBS that we attended at our church in June. I'm not sure of the official title of the song but any time someone in the house uses the word "more", we start singing:)

"More, more,... oh, oh, oh,oh, oh,... more, more, more than just a good man!" So very cute to hear them all start to sing with the perfect pitch and timing with each other. And I love that it's a song about Jesus being "more than just a good man"!


The other song is funny:) We finally got to see the LEGO movie during one the $1 deals at a local movie this summer! The kids were sooo excited to finally see it and Nate made it through a whole movie (I think that was a 1st for us... minus the time we took when he was too little to care).

And of course my kids totally add in different words to include what we're doing or something that has been done. Seems like we get a new version to sing every few days;)

"Everything is awesome when you're part of the B_________ team, everything is awesome because it's kind of about me!"

Tiny Talk Tuesday

The kids have been cracking me up... and I've been writing their little conversations down but loosing my pieces of paper :(

Anna has been keeping track of everyone's birthdays on her own calendar... I told you she keeps us all straight! She's been delighted that this month... August... is the birthday month of the "oldest member of our family"...

she's been influenced by her Daddy's jokes!!

It is MY birthday this month.... but I am NOT the oldest! Daddy is by almost 5 years!!

Bringing in the kids from playing outside MOnday evening I was preparing to bathe them. Unfortunately we had some horse play and a squabble as they were trying to figure out who was going to bathe first... and of course there was some pushing and one comes fussing to me as I walked through the door of the house.

And of course all three were guilty!!

So I say," First, we are not to be running through the house. Second, we need to leave one another alone, stop pushing each other..."

Then Lydia pipes up, "Third, you have an ant on your back Mommy!!"

LOL!! TOo funny... no chance to be too serious around here!

Since VBS my kids (girls especially) have been listening to the VBS songs (I might have put them on their MP3 players!)
In all honesty there are a couple of the songs that I really have enjoyed learning too;)

So when we visited with Grandma and Grandaddy last week the girls HAD to perform their songs for everyone. Grandma and Granddaddy saw the show twice... once for Gran-Grandma & Uncle Larry and once for Uncle Scott & Aunt Bea!

And I recorded it ONCE:) So I'll share it with you (it's the theme song.... not the best song... but one they really like!)

Kids Singing God Bless America

We have been praciting the song "Gob Bless America" for weeks now preparing them to sing during service this morning!! They were cute! And they get a little less nervous everytime... just need to get them to sing out a little more:)

BTW.... Brian took the video.. LOL!! When I asked the congregation to sing he joined in and sang like normal... aha haa... he sang right into the camera microphone (on accident of course) so he asked that I not post his "part"... lol!!

Our Newest Singer

Singing is very "in" at our house lately. The kids will play "church"! Each will get a book (AKA a hymn book) and start to sing their little hearts out. I'm thinking this has become such a new game soo quickly b/c the kids have started sitting in Sunday evening service and sometimes part of Sunday morning with me:)

Ok, back to "playing church"! They each get a "hymnal" and sing. But they are never really singing any planned song it really comes out very strange:) Not really words, just sounds and notes,etc!

This morning i caught Lydia "practicing"..... ahahaaa... what have the older ones taught her???

This has really, really encouraged me to start teaching them some kiddie songs and hymns.... it would be much more beautiful to have them actually singing songs that use real words and encourage our hearts :)
