SOOC: Note From His Teacher, Last Pool Time?

SOOC Saturday

While tidying up the house I found this note;)

Funny to get notes from Chris' "teacher" (aka his big sister)

And we got outside this week and into water with a history assignment (explanation will be in our "weekly wrap-up"). Kind of sad to think of our "pool time" as the last until next summer! Just thankful to have a little sun during this cloudy, rainy week!

The real-ness of this picture was funny to me.
The girls both smiling while holding their little escaping brother's shirt!! And he wasn't happy about it;)

WW: Polar Dare

My Mom has saved soo many cool toys from our childhood.... especially games from when my youngest brother was growing up. And she was soo "picky" about counting pieces and making sure they are all neatly in the box.

While growing up, it got OLD finding all the pieces EVERY TIME we put something away. But it's stuck with me and I ask my kiddos to do the same!

And this is why:

What fun my mom had teaching the kids (her grandkids) to play a game she enjoyed playing with my brother! To open us the box after YEARS of sitting in the game closet and the game is ready to be enjoyed:)
Gotta love Chris' expressions... kicking back waiting his turn... aka plotting the next move:) Really he's hoping to be the polar bear and get to send the little penguins back to the starting point.

They were truly ruthless... no mercy shown... a very serious game of Polar Dare going on!
Definitely inspires me to endure through the complaints of collecting all the pieces so some of these classic and fun games can be played over and over again:)

49 Seconds....

of a normal day....
Anna & Nate
then Chris & Lydia...

here's the link !!
As you can see Chris has heard the "do onto others as you want others to do to you" conversation... plenty of times!! In the video you can hear him apologising as Lydia is walking into the room....

but obviously Lydia is quickly healed! And is ready to play with her rascally brother once again!

I heart faces: All about Baby...

Since Nate's arrival... my girls are all about babies:)

Daily I hear conversations involving nursing babies, dressing babies and babies napping!

But when Lydia got to work diapering her baby, it was just adorable!! And she did such a GREAT job:)

Still in Here.....

So Nate didn't wake us in the middle of the night with any birth plans....

Brian jokingly said that maybe he is leaving room for a sibling and will show up tomorrow:) Of course it's only 11am (right now) so he still has plenty of time to make the "birthday pattern"... hint, hint, hint... LOL!!

This is the second day in a row when I've been crampy during the day... I was thankful that yesterday they eased off enough to enjoy revival!! But this morning, they were back.... dilate, dilate, dilate!!! hahhaha

So as I rested, the kids PLAYED... oh I mean destroyed Chris' room!!

Hey, they had a great time!! They played well together... it's kind of LOUD.... but at least it's giggles and playing scenarios... And the mess has been contained to ONE room versus the whole house:)

Only once has the kitchen floor had some cleaning done (our form of time-out).

I love the picture.... it's REAL!! There's a mess!! And a little girl telling me WHO is responsible for cleaning up each thing!!

Usually I'd be a little more uptight with Chris' room looking like a disaster zone.... but the fact that they have let me rest. And then made their own plans to clean it up (although they've been working on that part for 30+ minutes now... with even more giggles... I can hear "some" cleaning progress)!!

Looks like we will be having that OB appt this afternoon!! We'll see what my body and Nate are up to. Maybe we get some signs that labor is coming. And depending on signs of labor and Nate's size, there might have to be some decisions that have to be made...

:sigh:

TIny Talk Tuesday - pretend play moments

You can join in Tiny Talk Tuesday, too!! It's fun to record the silly conversations throughout the week and share them. Visit Not Before 7 to join in:)

**********************************************************
Lydia came into the kitchen to help me put away the utensils... I chuckled when I saw her with the ball shoved WAY up into her shirt, pretending to be pregnant:)

I really had to hold back the giggles when she told me, " I have to get someone to check my tummy. They say, 'let me check your belly' and then I say to them, 'there's a ball in my belly!' 'Dat would be sooo funny!"

As soon as she was done with the utensils, she was in the other room to pull off her plan!!

**********************************************************
Anna and Lydia have really been playing with their dolls lately! I hear strange names called out each day, as they call for their babies or ask eachother to "watch them" for the other.

One of the funniest moments was Anna yesterday asking for some cinnamon roll for snack. She asked, " Can I have a little bigger piece tonight?"

I answered, "Sure. Are you hungry?"

Anna replied," No, I just think my baby, Shureela, might like to have some with me."

LOL... smooth move to get more dessert, don't you think:)
***********************************************************
They play house A LOT. I've learned that when they call for "Mom!"... it usually is Anna or Lydia. When they want me they call, "Mommy" :)

Anyway, while they were playing outside in the snow this week, I heard them call Chris something other than "Dad"! It actually scared me at first because I was looking for another person in the backyard... LOL!!

Anna called out to Christopher," Charles, he's right there. Get him away and I'll take care of the girls."

LOL!!!!! Took me a minute to realize that they were playing one of the last episodes of Little House on the Prairie where the family gets snowed in!! LOL!! They are silly little things!!!

Babies Wearing "Babies"

The Mei Tai and Ring Sling were brought out last nigt while the kids played babies:) I HAD to stop cooking dinner to help them put them on and take PICTURES... of course!!!

Believe it or not, but it started with Christopher wanting to carry his giraffe.... gotta love a sensitive, nurturing man!!!!
Then Anna got into the game. She looks so grown to me!!!
Lyida wore her baby for awhile last night and then again this morning she wanted to put on the mei tai!!!! And she gladly smiled for a picture:)
If you didn't think the above pictures were cute.... then you might not like this one either!!! But I thought it was adorable to see Lydia's back with the mei tai straps (just like a mommy's) and then her backwards shorts from her dressing herself:) And her hair in piggies....

We really are at a fun stage!! I love listening to the kids playing "pretend" with each other. They take care of babies, they pretend that each other are cats, or they go to school. TOday they have transformed the living room into their "house" with their sleeping bags as beds and a blanket as their "table" with plates set..... [what a mess!!! lol]
Off to fold laundry, work on VBS materials and stay productive while they play sooo nicely:)

Saturday Sentences

As I was working around the house I heard the kids playing... this was what I heard from Anna:

Let's do school. Everyone get your Bibles...

Ok, so today we are talking
about what God has created....

He made the sky, bird and then trees.
He made us and our hearts.... he made our hearts so that he can live in our
hearts and tell us what to do.
Everyone got a turn being the "teacher"... that means you get to tell the others what to do while you stand behind the dehumidifier! And you refer to everyone using their full name.... first, middle and last.... so funny to hear them say eachother's full names.

Anna ended her turn being teacher by leading everyone in the song "Home on the Range". But then it got silly.... they subsitituted the forgotten words with BOINK... so it all ended up in giggles:)

Practicing Relationships Through Play

In was in the kitchen this morning, finishing our breakfast dishes... Anna was at the table starting school and Christopher was getting out the "quiet" toys for him and Lydia during "school time".

As I loaded one of the last dishes, I heard from the floor, "Ok, now you have to apologize to each other." And he was turning the little men heads' toward one another...

Sweet morning play!!

Daddy's New Hiding Place

Another "quiet" night at home :)

BTW.....totally unrelated to playing with Daddy. Brian and I have been sick with the computer that I affectionatly call "my computer". It had been acting up for a month or so and I just would restart it and then it would work fine the next day. This weekend it went crazy, the warning signs took up my whole screen.....so we've been searching and deleting all the viruses, spyware, adware and other random junk off my computer....it's been a pain!! So protect your computer:)

Playtime with Daddy

They love peek-a-boo but it's been funny to watch Lydia learn how to play and start to try to find the kids or Daddy. I caught a piece of a usual pee-a-boo session.......ENJOY!

Back to setting up and cleaning :)
