Sunset Walk

After a CRAZY week attempting to school and care for my brood. Fighting colds and cleaning house......

we got out:)We drove to a local town... played at a playground, walked around, grabbed a quick dinner and drove home.

This was my favorite pic:)

Adding to the fun at Sweet Shot Tuesday at Life with my 3 Boybarians.

Some "time off" for Mom

On Saturday we had only housekeeping/yardwork plans, so at breakfast I asked the kids if there was anything that they'd like to do.

There were a couple of comments about going to a park, etc! But then one of my angels suggested,"Daddy, maybe you could keep us and Mommy can have some "time off", some time to relax."

And being silly I asked what I'd do during "some time to relax"?

Chris responded, "You know relaxing things... hmm, like cooking and cleaning!"

LOL!!!

And just so you know we did have a relaxing day.

We all worked outside for MOST of the day.... it was just too pretty to stay inside (even if I was battling a nasty cold)! And Anna later told us that she had a great day playing outside with a friend, in the dirt and eventually in her bathing suit with water. Simple, nice day!

One conversation with Chris he asked out-of-the-blue, "Mommy, who pushed you out?"

After some questioning, I can now translate Chris' question to mean "Who is your Mom?"

A Peek into Our Mornings

Babe sleeping.

(Momma still trying to learn how to shoot in manual in low light... grrrrr!!)

Chores started. Chore charts sometimes guiding.

Back to the grind.

Painted hands. Another school project.

I love mornings and enjoyed capturing glimpses of our mornings this week for You Capture:)

WW: 4 months!!!

yes!!! It's the 1st of the month and my baby is 4 months.... where did the time go?

The pic to the left is one that Andrea took when Nate was 1.5 or 2 weeks old....

ohhhhhh, those sweet cuddly newborn days.....

and now we have an increasingly active infant who loves attention, trying to get around and always watching everything.... soaking it all in...

Here he is this week in the same onesie which is looking more like a muscle shirt... LOL!!!

This week Nate has thrown some curveballs in his schedule... funny though because it changed in just ONE day! Before Monday, Nate slept in until 9am, cat napped the rest of the AM , then took a 2+ hour nap in the afternoon.

His schedule this week has included waking at 7 am, a quick cat nap around 8am and then a 2+ hour nap in the AM and another 2+ hour nap in the afternoon 3ish-5ish:) Then another quick nap about 7:30ish and he goes to bed about 9pm with the kids.

With the change in his schedule during the day, he's been sleeping differently at night, too!! Sleeping soundly from 8:30 (quick nurse at 11:30) until 6:30..... so hoping this stays:) And at night he's been in the crib ;( - i need to post more about that!

More fun facts:

  • Still weighs about 16.5 lbs (will get officially weighed at well-child appt)
  • Can wear SOME 3-6 month clothes, but mostly in 6-9!! He's wearing Chris' infant summer clothes (and Chris was a Nov-baby)!
  • Starting to "play" with us.... giggles when we come near to tickle him. Smiles really big when we approach him.
  • Can distract him when he's fussy.... we'll smile or tickle him and he'll start smiling again:)
  • Starting to multi-task... LOL!!! here's a pic of him playing with toys and his toes;)
  • Not sure which hand he favors - some days its the left, other days its the right
  • Trying to stand when we hold him:)
  • Almost rolling from his back to his tummy!!!!! He's just inches from making it to his tummy:) He's been rolling from his tummy to his back since he was 4 weeks, so thought it was coming!
  • Has a really, really bald spot in the back of his head... you can feel his skin :( But on the top there is more hair coming in, filling out his hairline. And he still has some super long pieces on top, I don't have the heart to trim them to match the length of the new hair!
  • LOVES his siblings!!!!! He lights up when they walk into the room and he just craves attention from them:) Chris gets him to laugh ALL the time- Chris has another fan:)
  • Getting more and more content - It seems with each week, Nate just becomes easier and easier to care for. He still loves to be held, but I can have hands-free moments to get tasks done while he plays with toys or looks around:)
